These ingenious drinking vessels have got a series of coloured strips inside, a bit like those colour charts you see in paint shops. The idea is to ask what colour people prefer their tea and coffee and then match it to the selected strip by adding the right amount of milk. Clever, eh? And no more tar-like tea or insipid, dishwater-style coffee.

It's a modern, healthy twist on the good ole' ice bucket. With summer coming and people entertaining in larger groups the fact that no utensils are needed and hands never touch the ice makes it even more attractive (especially for the germaphobes amongst us). Ice stays for hours. Simple to use and very pretty. It looks very "upscale". After going to an outdoor wedding and seeing the bartender use his sweaty hands to get the ice, I'm a believer. When I use it people are always like "wow"that's pretty cool! You can see a demo on the website www.icedropping.com.

An experience more intimate, more sensory and more emotional. A suspended space, outside the time, where to wander, all the direction in awakening: to the hiding-place of subtle perfumes, of unexpected cares, of new sensations. What a happy place! The gold interior of one of the spa’s inner rooms is so bright, even to the point of collapsing on itself like a star. Mosaic tiles and a mirror ball move little squares of light around the room enveloping the lucky visitor. Yellows are warm and inviting, what a perfect color choice for this boutique spa!

A new type of traveller is walking through the door. These modern travellers – let’s call them “Mobile Citizens”- are so important to a new Dutch hotel group; it named its hotel after them. citizenM – short for citizen mobile – has reflected on and learnt from the needs and wishes of these individuals. “citizenM offers a new type of hotel experience for sophisticated travellers. People who value personal choice, contemporary design, friendly technology and the proximity to a city – for an astonishing price,” says Michael Levie, CEO of the citizenM hotel group. The first citizenM hotel will open at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam with 230 rooms at the beginning of 2008. citizenM has partnered with internationally renowned architects Concrete, and European design giants Philips and Vitra to offer “affordable luxury for the people.” Rooms are friendly and functional and feature: a super king-size bed fitted with luxurious linen and pillows, a wall-to-wall window for plenty of natural light, a flat LCD television, Philips technology and ambient lighting, a rain shower and other luxurious amenities especially developed by a famous ‘nose’ (also responsible for creations of Commes des Garçons and Viktor & Rolf).
