Sephora: Pout Illuminator: Luminizer

Sephora: Pout Illuminator: Luminizer

Pout is another cosmetics company that I have never tried. But I really like how this illuminator comes in two shades - bronze for the summer and love glow for the winter.

  • What a way to add some sunshine to your face. An illuminating blend of color and shimmer. I'll definitely have this in my summer make-up bag.

  • Mix a squirt with foundation for a barely there sheen, or dab it directly onto cheekbones as a highlighter.

When someone says to you, “look how you’re glowing,” that’s one of my favorite compliments. Clinique’s Up-Lighting Liquid Illuminator really helped give me that glowing look that resulted in tons of compliments. The texture of the product in somewhat thin and runny, yet it’s very blendable, and the subtle shimmer gives me the perfect “I’ve just gotten back from Jamaica” glow. It didn’t change colors during the day, flake or wear off – perfect! I used the Bronze shade and I got great results by mixing a couple drops with my liquid foundation or tinted moisturizer for an all-over glow. I also applied it on my cheekbones, nose and forehead before after my tinted moisturizer. It shimmered and looked great! I've even tried making my own under eye brightener by mixing a bit with my concealer. I just love this product. The glow is perfect for me. It also has superb packaging that’s easy to toss in any makeup bag. If you want a glossy look like models in magazines that's what you will get with this product! This is now a must have in my makeup arsenal.

So I am always magnetically drawn to products which promise flawless skin. So you can imagine how happy I was when I discovered that per-fekt skin perfection gel is a primer, foundation and magical air-brusher all in one that delivers a refined finish without feeling mask-like. I loved the silky, mousse-y texture of the gel (just a few pumps covered my entire face) which instantly mattified my skin yet provided hydration all day. On most days I wore it under my makeup (I also added some concealer under my eyes when going to work), but I also found that on more casual weekend’s I could wear it alone. Also impressive: it didn’t budge because it's sweat proof and water-resistant. There are little reflective particles in it which are very flattering and the color match was also great. I found Rich could be used on a fair range of brown skin tones (There are also several colors available which are lighter and one darker, Decadent, than this one, which would be better for those of you around a Serena Williams complexion). Once I put it on in the morning I was primed and ready to go! I just love this and can’t wait to try the body per-fektor next Note: This is for those of you who don’t need heavy coverage as it is not a foundation.

It gives your skin a bright, matte finish and can be used it on its own or underneath foundation. It's very easy to put on and you can use it to brighten key points on your face i.e. forehead, under the eyes and chin or use it all over the face. The brightening effect is quite obvious and I've had friends comment on the difference when I wore it.

It’s a small round tube with a sponge applicator built into the top. The sponge is about the size and shape of a small marshmallow. As instructed, I shook the product ,unscrewed the top and lightly applied the illuminator to the top of my cheekbones, the arch of the eyes and even my collar bone at night. I did find that it was better to do the final blend with my fingers and the formula blended into my skin easily. It’s a very flattering golden bronze color with a touch of pink . It’s also a universal color that will highlight all skin tones from Lisa Ling to Alec Wek. It has very nice lasting power (if I applied in the AM it absolutely was still there at night when I washed off my face) . Great little unique product for a perfect price!

  • I love Too Faced. Glamour in a bottle. This is a white-gold luminizer that would fit the bill perfectly.

  • This is billed as an eyeliner (?), but I think it could be used quite well as an illuminator. It appears to have a glow about it.
