My lifelong obsession with toast began right here, with this bread. It's been my absolute favorite since I was a little girl... the perfect bread for toasted sandwiches at 2 in the morning on a rainy night.

Think gelatin, not jam. And ignore how awful this sounds and just try it- mix a packet of this with chopped beets and let it set. I know what you're thinking but I swear to God it's delicious....

Every year when I go back to Ireland I get a request from all our Irish friends on this side of the pond- BRING BACK FLAKES. BOXES AND BOXES OF FLAKES! Sigh. I literally load up on cases of chocolate at duty free on my way home. T... I literally load up on cases of chocolate at duty free on my way home. Thank god they're now available here. So those of you who always ask? Bugger off. Now, once you've secured this most gorgeous of candy products, what can you do with it? Well, eat it comes to mind. But be careful- the name is a clue. It really will flake and crumble in your mouth and, if not careful, all over your clothes. Or crumble it all up and sprinkle it on ice cream for a tasty treat. And if you make it over to the Emerald Isle, stop by one of the many petrol stations with a big fake cone in front and ask for a "99"- that's a soft-serve vanilla cone with a Flake poking out a la the picture I added. Yum.

But the taste? Oh my god, delicious. Here's the trick- dip them in a hot cup of tea juuuust long enough (maybe 2-3 seconds) to get the chocolate a bit melted but NOT long enough to make the cookie soggy or it will fall into the cup. Yep. It's an art form.

Last year I did a mash-up of this costume and went as the One-Night Stand of the Lucky Charms Leprechaun. Think green she-leprechaun costume, fake hickeys in the shape of the marshmallow charms and... well, you get the idea.
