This dress would divinely suit that purpose. It's a knee length dress with a flattering skirt and boat neck (say hello to my pretty collarbones).

It's red which is great for the holiday party circuit. It's cashmere which means it has to be a) warm and b) comfortable and it has tulle which gives it body in the skirt. I'd love to try this for this holiday season and banish the frozen cloth to usage in the warmer months.

And after a cold day outside skiing, skating and the like I'd wrap myself in a dress 5 sizes to big (as everything is when you are 8) and warm up. Somewhere along the way I lost that dress (or my aesthetic side finally banished it from my house), but this cashmere dress is the best replacement I've found. It's warm, cozy and the beading makes it not so casual it looks like you are being super scrubby.

This cable knit cashmere cardigan makes me either want to add it to regular rotation with it's diminutive buttons and princess pink coloring or find a new place to stash a cardigan, under a rock with the extra key perhaps?
