The emotions feel raw, the music is sometimes cut down to the bare bones of voice and piano and the settings of its videos look bitterly cold. The warmth comes through now and again, and I find myself looking for it as I would a lost sweater or blanket. So, on "Hopes and Fears", Keane succeeds in drawing us into another world, one of their making. It is raw, but ravishing.
