So. I may or may not have been taught how to make a G&T before I could sufficiently tie my shoes on the first try, but I assure you I did not start drinking the stuff myself until senior year of college. I was always opposed to the piney taste of Beefeater and Bombay that my parents usually had me use when playing ten-year-old bartender, so I was always wary of gin in general, sticking to vodka and rum. However, my dad usually has an elaborate collection of gin at their house, and most recently, he made me a gin and tonic with Hendrick's. The cucumber and rose petals it is infused with give it a much less offensive smell and bite, while still being a hearty gin. Coming from someone who is slowly starting to enjoy liquor of this persuasion, Hendrick's is an excellent place to start.
