Intel’s Metro Notebook concept

Intel’s Metro Notebook concept

OK OK, so this is a concept notebook and not technically available, but isn't that kind of the point of "this next?" Intel's metro notebook sports a second display on the OUTSIDE of the laptop, using non volatile memory and e-ink to display calendar, email, and other neat things that you need access when you're walking around...with this hip laptop slung over your shoulder. That's right...slung over your shoulder. This concept is designed primarily for women, but the specs make it a nice compact to carry around: sub-0.7in thick, 1kg. Heck, I would love to sport a laptop with those dimensions, without the shoulder strap of course. Then again, I don't see how ANYONE would feel comfortable carrying their notebook this way.

Currently this is just a concept, so you can't buy it yet, but I will be the first one in line when you can. I love my laptop, but it seems silly to haul around something that's 6 or 7 pounds when you could have this ultra-light, ultra-thin composed of 2 sheets of thin glass. It relies on holograms for the keys and the screen, and the screen becomes transparent when not in use. Amazing.
