khphillips :: Lidded Raku Vessel - Amber Patina
From the description: "This vessel was thrown on the wheel from a raku stoneware clay. It was then dipped in porcelain slip while leatherhard. It was glazed with a clear crackle glaze and fired in the raku kiln. While the glaze was still molten hot, I pulled it from the kiln and sprayed it with my secret patina - creating a lush metallic amber color on portions of the pot. Then it was reduced in a can of shredded paper to fill the cracks with smokey carbon."
