  • Love, love, love the compactness of this, but for now, I'll just bookmark it until there's more than two of us going camping. Two pots, 2 lids, 4 deep plates, 4 stainless steel cups and a pot handle.

These crampons are some of the few designs on the market which enable attachment to trainers (as well as hiking boots, snowboarding boots and ski boots). They are adjustable and flexible meaning they are ace for trail running in winter/icy conditions. They are really lightweight and I found them dead comfy to wear. Because the spikes are shorter than normal crampons they will be easier to walk/run in and longer lasting on rocky surfaces. Basically they rock!

The best thing about it is that there are absolutely no poles...just one very rigid inbuilt inflatable tube. The idea is that even if the weather is bad, you can simply fling out your tent, climb in and inflate it from the inside, without having to mess about with poles. You get a wee pump with it so it's dead easy. I haven't bought it yet but I did get to try one out and was astounded at how rigid it was. It also packs really small.
