Like most people I'm obsessed with bacon and a bartender I met in Seattle said that this is the best bourbon to use to create bacon-infused bourbon. Yummy!

I don't mix this with anything except an ice cube or two; it's far too nice to be diluted with mixers. The quality of this whiskey shines through with every taste, but especially in its lingering vanilla finish. I adore this stuff, but it has become very hard to find, unfortunately. Perhaps that is because it is ridiculously high quality for the price, which is usually around $25 a bottle. I'd put it up against any top-shelf bourbon.

My friend turned me on to Basil Hayden. It's better to have it on the rocks than neat. Can't explain it but I find myself asking for that now instead of my previous, Jameson. Good stuff.

BEST OF SHOW 2006 SAN FRANCISCO SPIRITS COMPETITION, 92 PTS WINE ENTHUSIAST. Jameson 1780 has a warm, spicy and assertively complex nose with smooth sherry sweetness. This one definitely needs to be enjoyed neat.
