Using a porthole mirror is a fun way to play with your guests walking through your home. I love to hang them at eye-height, so your guests will make eye contact with themselves as a part of their journey through your home. Even more fun is to tuck one into a wall hanging of photos and artwork. It's very intriguing to most people to "see themselves" as a part of your art landscape. I did this with a client who combined sketch art with paintings and even a photograph or two, with a brass porthole mirror in the mix. It is also faintly reminiscent of a ship... You could do a few of them in a row to mimic windows!
