Ballon Bleu is my favorite new model at Maison Cartier, and the Flying Tourbillon is top of the line -- the first Cartier watch to bear the Geneva Seal with 19 jewels 9452 MC Calibre movement. It doesn't hurt that it's beautiful, either. Sigh.

A Tank watch was an instant classic in 1917, still a classic when Audrey Hepburn wore it, and still a classic today. I usually buy watches that would stand the test of time -- that means dials in classic colors like white and black -- but this watch made my heart beat a little faster when I saw it in person. Cartier hadn't really come out with a ladies' blue dial watch other than limited editions, and the fact they added this to their standard lineup means a lot. Of course each MOP dial will be different, but the one I saw had a beautiful translucent purple tint. This is a better looking watch in person, and it comes with a little bonus of being different and classic at the same time.
