Napa Valley Marinade

I stumbled upon cabernet & garlic marinade at Draeger's (a local Bay Area store) about 6 years ago and have yet to find anything that beats it. Unfortunately, it's harder to find these days and it seems only a select few online stores sell it. When I place an order I get at least 6 bottles. I once soaked a steak in this marinade for 24 hours on a camping trip and it was, to this day, the best steak I have ever eaten. The spices, garlic, oils and other flavors perfectly blend together to create a nice accent with any meat that isn't overpowering. And, don't use sparingly. The more the merrier, as will be your party with any dish you serve made with this. Speaking of...I think it's time I reorder

  • I use a splash of lime juice in my curry dishes or when sautee- ing vegetables. I've been replacing salt with lemon and lime juice. Try it.

  • A tasty choice for soy sauce, and a necessity for any asian meal. Serve alongside your stir-fry and use to make tasty marinades. 3 parts soy sauce + 1 part sesame seed oil + 1 part honey = simple and yummy homemade marinade!

  • These are SOOO yummy. I really like to use them for chicken to keep from a case of the bland food. The bottles are really clever - each in the shape of the alcohol flavor they have in the marinade.
