Why I like this project: -Seems simply enough -Covers function and form -The contrast between the rough, natural bottom and the ultra-smooth, colorful top -It's cheap!

I really like the idea of this doormat; it's earthy, natural, and simple. But, I also really like color. OR, if you want the best of both worlds, thin some oil paint and do a wash over the boards. In both cases, I recommend buying small tubes of paint. See additional photos for examples.

Simple, easy, and cute. These would be great for so many occasions: showers, birthdays, spring! I bet children would love helping. (Can't find "taffy tape"? Try airheads or use a rolling pin on normal taffy.)
