Madvillain (Madvillainy)

Madvillain (Madvillainy)

With Madlib's incredible mix of jazzy, head bumpin' beats and MF Doom's lyrical winds this is one you'll have in your weekly rotation. This is the un-Hip Hop, Hip-Hop CD. If you appreciate lyricism layed over some beats you've never heard; I introduce you to Madvillain. This is a must for any music lover with good taste and an I.Q. over 100. Quasimoto also comes in on "Americas Most Blunted"

  • Now that's cool! But don't you think other musicians deserves this kind of packaging?

They're a virtual hip hop/ trip hop group. The whole group is a collaboration between artists Dan the Automator, Damon Albarn from Blur, Del the Funky Homosapien, illustrator Jamie Hewlett and Cibo Matto's Miho Hatori and more. This Album features cameos by MF Doom and the Happy Mondays Shaun Ryder. Favorite tracks: Every Planet We Reach is Dead Dirty Harry Dare All Alone

The albums is very beat conscious and soulful. The albums are instrumental only and are very well constructed (for lack of a better term). The version on Amazon isn't the full set. You can download the full box set from emusic.com and get all 82 tracks. The full album name is "MF DOOM - Metalfingers Presents - Special Herbs The Box Set Vol. 0-9". While MF DOOM isn't going to be on every bodies play list, it is a must for those fans of Hip Hop and turntablism. I recommend this album for fans of DJ Shadow, Madlib, Wax Tailor, DJ Greyboy, DJ Babu, Tribe Called Quest, Blackalicious and Underground Hip Hop.
