Who says you need a man to have a baby? Single mother and successful lawyer Laura longs to give her son a sibling—but first she must track down the sperm donor she used nine years earlier. Her search will lead her to Wendy, a scrapbooking, cookie-bingeing housewife with out-of-control twins, and Vanessa, a young woman so frustrated with her boyfriend’s commitment issues that she’s switched from checking out shoes on eBay to cruising men on donor sites. As the three women’s lives intertwine, they reevaluate their beliefs about motherhood, fatherhood—and what it means to be a family.

Sunday afternoon … also known as Petting Zoo Time for moms all across America. If you had a dime for every rabbit, goat and pony your tykes have had their pudgy little paws on, you’d be reading this from your own horse ranch somewhere in Colorado. What is it about animals that turns normally sweet, unassuming children into pet-obsessed loons? Who knows? But one thing is for certain, whether they’re begging for a parrot, a pug or a pony, there’s nothing like an Ecozoo Backpack to delay what is perhaps the inevitable animal acquisition. Half pet, half backpack, these unique bags come in the guise of a panda, a puppy, a pig and an elephant. And since Ecozoo backpacks are made from organic, non-toxic and recycled materials, your kids can pet all they want, no hand-sanitizer required.

His family includes a mom, a dad, a heavy metal big brother, and a whiny, tattling little brother. His best friend is Rowley, another odd 6th-grader with overprotective parents and the world-class ability to annoy. Greg is always a victim of the big, mean bullies in the school. He constantly seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. In an attempt to be "cool" he experiments with the idea of weightlifting, creating his own haunted house, running for class treasurer, and building a snowman big enough to be considered for the Guiness Book of World Records. However, the only mild success he accomplishes is as a safety guard whose job is to walk the kindergarten kids home at lunchtime.

A gentle, rhyming text intersperses train noises with a getting-ready-for-bed routine with a railroad-inspired theme. Brightly colored cartoon illustrations picture children in their beds being pulled along by the engine. They ride through tunnels, over bridges, and past fields of sheep. The words flow fairly well, with only a few minor skips, and the sounds mixed with bedtime sounds (Rock-a, rock-a, rock-a, rock-a–Shhhhhhhhhhh! Shhhhhhhhhhh!) will delight youngsters and have them chiming in.

I had found this baby carrier/wrap while searching for a gift for my friend and her fiance in preparation to welcome their baby into the world. "Magnolia Sunshine". I personally didn't love the name, but they are free spirits and so I felt that this sleepy wrap would be perfect for their progressive/hippie lifestyle and new child. The wrap can be used in a variety of ways allowing the child to be carried close to the chest, on the back, and in a variety of positions that make baby and parent feel secure and comfortable. From reading about this product, the testimonies on the website and all the pictures of happy customers(parents & children) was enough of a reason for me to get this for my friend and her new baby. I also liked that this product can grow with the child (up to 45lbs in some cases!) and also has versatility.
