Patemm Pads

Patemm Pads

Don't have a lot of baggage? Wish I could say the same but the Patemm Pad is perfect for when a diaper bag is too much to handle. A large, round diaper changing pad with pockets to store diapers, wipes, creams and spare clothes. A must when you don't need to lug around a ton of bottles and other garbage. It's easy to fold and carry and generously sized.

If you've ever pushed a baby around in a sub-par plastic stroller, then it's high time for you to ditch those wheels and move to something sleeker and safer. Namely, the Quinny. This is a collection of eight half hour audio programs in a 4-CD set. Each CD is packaged with a booklet containing descriptions of the shows and performers, written and illustrated by host and producer Nanci Olesen. You can buy a single volume or the whole set. (Naturally, more is better!) I'm one of the women featured on the first CD (the one about pregnancy and newborn shock). Nanci and I talk about the ups and downs of each of the three trimesters.

Balance the need to stay home so your child can nap against your need to avoid cabin fever. You can quickly develop a case of cabin fever if you feel like you're trapped in the sleep-deprivation zone 24/7." While you don't want your child to miss his naps all the time, sometimes getting to your mom's group one afternoon a week is such an important pick-me-up for you that you're willing to deal with any temporary fallout from your child's disrupted nap schedule. (Sometimes we get into really black-and-white thinking -- and a lot of guilt -- when it comes to kids and sleep. We talk about babies being "good" and "bad" sleepers -- and we beat ourselves up because we didn't follow a particular sleep program to a -- but rather trust our mother instincts instead. What's wrong with this picture?)
