Leatherman Charge TTi
If you want the best multi-tool ever made, you want the Leatherman Charge TTi, which manages to replace both the Charge Ti (w/scissors) and XTI (with cutting hook) by combining the features of both. The externally accessible clip-point knife is made of S30V® stainless steel , which is even better than the 154CM stainless used on the Ti/XTi and new AL/ALX blades. And the TTi handles, like the Ti and XTi before it, are made of sculpted titanium, which is even more cool (and slightly lighter weight) than the already excellent, aerospace-grade 6061-T6, heat-treated and hard-anodized aluminum alloy handles on the AL and ALX models. All Charge models use bronze for their bushings to guarantee easy (but not TOO easy) and consistent tool opening. The outside tools/blades lock securely. And all models include a kit containing 8 double-ended bits made of tool steel, and sized from a tiny eyeglass-repair screwdriver up to and including 5/32" hex and 3/16" flat screwdrivers. The bit drivers themselves are included among the inside tools on the Charges. They also come with a quick-release lanyard ring and pocket-clip (strong neck and pockets advised). An optional tool bit kit is available with 21 MORE double-ended bits on two more bit carriers. Just whatever you do, don't accidentally drop this in a carry-on bag and have it confiscated at the airport! For that, Leatherman offers a knifeless Fuse multi-tool, if you must pack one.

On short trips, instead of packing a bottle of lotion, I take Smith's Rosebud Salve. This cult beauty product that can be used not just on chapped lips, but under the eyes and anywhere else you have dryness (knees, elbows, etc.).

Blades on this are SUPER sharp, and all the tool lock in place. This one comes with a variety of bits that fit into one of the tools, so there's not a lot this one can't handle.
