BLK JKS (pronounced "black jacks"), The Rolling Stone Magazine said "... After Robots incorporates everything from sunny South African kwaito to art-rock shredding; the result has been compared to Sonic Youth and TV on the Radio..." "Kwa Nqingetje" was the track that caught my ear, featuring vocals that reminded me of Justin Hayward of The Moody Blues over a loose waltzing ballad punctuated by Jazz drumming. I will keep a ear out for Blk Jks, I'd like how they evolve.

Afterwards I went on a music quest for the same sor... A few years ago I took a second glance at the movie "To Sir, with Love" and was happy to discover the movie is peppered with cool music by Manchester beat group The Mindbenders. Afterwards I went on a music quest for the same sort of sound, I soon entered the world of '60 Garage Punk, and among the nuggets electrified teenage kicks stood The Seeds. Colored in a Blues Psychedelic sound The Seeds have a much harder edge than The Mindbenders, and that worked for me. The Seeds remain one of my favorite bands from this period.

It was "Bulletproof" that hit me. La Roux's self titled album contains the essence of 80's New Wave, featuring synth sequences that would fit in songbooks of Blancmange, The Human League, Dead or Alive and Eurythmics. I think La Roux would have been huge back in the dance era of the Thompson Twins and Thomas Dolby, but I'm happy they are part of a new dance explosion bent on geminating fans of Tecktonik (TCK), Electro Dance, Milky Way, Vertigo, and anything post-Emo.
