A product of Williamsburg Brooklyn NYC Gretsch created Duo-Jet Guitar that was played by George Harrison. The Beatles: Rock Band Wireless Gretsch Duo-Jet Guitar Controller is a amazing twist in evolution, it's both toy and high technology at the same time. 1000 times lighter than the actual instrument the Rock Band Wireless Guitar Controller is a try to the design of the iconic body down to the authentic chrome Bigsby bridge and tremolo bar and five-way chrome knob. Fab!

Rock Band is a lot of fun but my first love is Guitar Hero because the guitar patterns are more intricate. Ideally they would combine the guitar portion of GH with the drums / vocals portion of Rock Band. Consider this a recommendation for every single Guitar Hero game out there. You want Guitar Hero because of "Fat Lip" (Sum41), "Killer Queen" (Queen) and "Bark at the Moon (Ozzy) at the very least. You want GH2 because of "Sweet Child of Mine" (GNR), "Misirlou" aka the Kill Bill song (Dick Dale) and "Soy Bomb" (Honest Bob and the Factory-to-Dealer Incentives). You want Rock the 80's because of "18 and Life" (Skid Row) and "Only a Lad" (Oingo Boingo). You want Guitar Hero 3 because of Metallica's "One" -- I could keep going all night about this game. Plus, this game is great for kids, for them to play alone and with you. I make it a point to whoop my nephews in this game every so often just so they remember who's boss.

As recent converts to the Nintendo Wii (we kinda stopped at the GameCube and never really caught up!) we've got to say that Guitar Hero III is by far our favorite! Steve actually plays guitar & bass in the real world, and Marlee has a lot of old violin lessons that she never fully kicked our of her system. And yet, they are both essentially useless with their pinky fretting. The battle to be the master of MEDIUM has begun. Let the most rockingest rocker win!

The included software has metronome functions and back up tracks to help with your playing. Also you can record yourself and then listen to yourself practice. That is the fastest way to get improvement. Great for the kid who beat all the Guitar Hero games or the aspiring rock star in your life.
