Gruyere Cheese Shop - Switzerland Gruyere - Swiss Fondue Recipe

Gruyere is the type of cheese that is made for entertaining. Rich and nutty, it pairs perfectly with Pinot Grigio and is the essential ingrediant for fondue.

While this product is not natural or organic, this is a product I am looking forward to the new range of products by Purple Lab NYC (the people who brought you 'Huge Lips, Skinny Hips', lip gloss). This is definitely going to be my first-buy -- I've been looking for a product that can do double duty for nights out. This product is an eyeliner and a mascara, and the 'ink' has a slight diamond dusting (at least that's what I can see from the images). The products are slightly on the steep side at $32.50 but this could change depending on the success of the product but I think it'll make for great presents. Purple Lab NYC has also introduced a cream blush, eyeshadow, tinted foundation and concealer. I don't think there's much variety in the colour but the company is young and they are expanding so watch this space!

I can't believe I am recommending this because as yet I don't actually own the products, I've just sampled some and then did my research but such is the life of the impoverished. Frazer Parfum is based in Cape Town, South Africa and the proprieter and perfumer has travelled the world over to source the natural ingredients. Everything about these products states elegance, subtlety and natural. The products are packaged in hand-blown glass (and believe me, the bottles are beautiful -- check the site for yourself). Each scent is referred to as a Chapters. I've sampled Chapter 3, described on the website as a perfume with note of orange and coffee and you can definitely smell the orange, with undertones of coffee but don't worry, you won't smell like a Terry's Chocolate Orange. But there are 9 scents in total and some are currently being designed (I am really looking forward to Chapter 5) and they all have fantastic colours. At 22g a bottle, the pricing is predictably very high, ranging from £300 to £600 and the scents are available in solid form, at a more reasonable price of £80 per 5g. You can also have bespoke scents made and with the solid perfumes, you can have the case engraved (and their cases are just beautiful). This company alone makes me want to become a celebrity socialite, so I can buy the scents on whim! Let the saving begin...

While this product isn't my normal 'natural' and 'green' find, it is a great product. Currently only available in the UK, this product is a lip plumper, lip gloss, breath freshener AND a drink spike tester. Now I can't attest to the last claim, I can confirm all the other wonders of the product. While 2-in-1 lip gloss and lip plumper products are widely available on the market (DuWop, anyone?), the breath freshener and the spike tester are truly innovative. I love the breath freshener because after a long night, you may have no mints lift and my guess is that we don't carry tooth brushes unless we are on overnight trips! This is the first product by the company and it comes in 5 colours -- Beautiful Pink is a soft baby pink, Passionate pink is a shimmery hot pink, Charismatic Cherry is a pearlescent medium cool red, Sophisticated Coffee is a nude-to-brown shimmer gloss and Posh Gloss, which is clear (and incidentally the product I own). I haven't used the other colours as yet, but the clear gloss really is quite brilliant. This product is definitely a must-try as the price tag of £8.49 (on eBay) is a little steep for a lip gloss but then again this is more than a lip gloss!

And these guys are definitely high-end, so be prepared to dig deep in to your pockets, either for a luxury gift for yourself or someone else. Their range is entirely creams and moisturisers, or something similar. They have a night creams, balms and skin creams. I bought their Eye Serum and Relaxing Body Oil, which proved to be really fantastic but I maintain that they are luxury products rather than day-to-day products, so a Must Try!

Health from the Hive is there super-cute slogan and their products are equally cute while being really good to use. They aren't a 100% natural from what I understand but they are really good and smell divine (the honey base may have something to do with that). I got the High Five set as a present and it contained their hand lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body balm and face cream. So far I've only used their hand lotion, conditioner and balm so far and while the results aren't groundbreaking, they are really comfortable to use. The price range is in the lower band, which is another plus in this company's corner. Must try!

I was looking for a company that only sold pure mineral pigments to replace my main make-up (eyeshadow etc) since they have really long life, even more so when you put them in the fridge. I found this uk-based mineral pigment company and they make the basics -- the mineral eyeshadows, concealer, foundations, blusher & bronzer, and finishing powder. I've only used the eyeshadow and concealer so far but the eyeshadows, just to clarify, are intense pigments more suited for the night than day. They mix easily and are really easy to use -- definitely something add to your cosmetic bag!

Something else I received as a present, an organic skin care basket. This set came from the Oregon-based company Healing Tree Herbals (their website could do with a lot of work) who make soaps, massage oil, rubs and salves, and lotions. One from each of their categories, I am delighted to report that their products are nothing like their site, at least the ones I've tried. I haven't used the soap yet but their healing salves and rubs are amazing! The lotion is not too rich so it's perfect for the summer when it's hot and humid but not for the winter but they make up for that with their salves and rubs. Definitely a must-try with the products price range being in the lower band!

They are eco-friendly and do their best to be natural and as organic as possible. I have only used their oil diffusers (which are fantastic and have already been recommended on ThisNext) and organic soaps but they have products beyond that range including health care products, skin care, perfumes, skin care for men, teas, specialist skin care and hair care as well as home care and I intend to test some of those products out but if the diffusers and soaps are anything to go by, I doubt I'll be disappointed. The price range is in the medium band but that's to be expected since they are "people-sized company" and I think my next purchase will be a perfume by them.

I am not actually a great tea drinker. Well not regular tea. I prefer coffee but as I am trying to cut down caffiene but still like my hot bevarage and while I've known about Whittard's of Chelsea for the longest time, I've never really gone there because I was a coffee drinker and they were primarily tea suppliers. But I recently tried their ayuervedic, green, fruit & herbal teas and I am a convert. So delightful. I've only tried these three categories but they have a very diverse range of teas, drinkware and hot chocolates. They also sell coffe but I am not particular fond of their coffee but then it's a matter of personal taste. The pricing is in the medium band for tea but it is completely worth it. I can't say whether this is available online since I actually buy from the store but they have an online store as well so they may ship internationally.

As an avid music fan and sporadic blogger, I am a little tired of YouTube as the source of rare and obscure audio and embedded music, so I began my hunt for a superior site and I found IMEEM. It's a fantastic site (though sometimes it doesn't have music I am looking for) but it's constantly being updated because it's user-based and embedding it and adapting it for blogs, is the easiest coding I have ever done. It's a free site but you can pay for more privileges. It's not that incredible for the average mp3 player owner but as someone who codes online, it is incredibly useful and superior.

I love coffee. It all began with me drinking the remanants of my mother's coffee as a child and the love affair has remained since so I am always on the hunt for good coffee and I like to buy products that help the local economy and encourage fair trade. That's when I stumbled upon Monmouth Coffee Company (that seems to be a trait with me) and while also a coffee shop (only three and all in London), they also sell their own coffee beans and they have some of the best blends I have ever had. The price is a little steep but then I am willing to pay that for good coffee that stimulates the local economy and is part of fair trade. It's probably around the same cost as Starbucks' coffee beans so it's not going to leave you in the poor house, unless you drink coffee like you drink water.

Australian companies are so far forward, that it's unbelievable. I got three of the products as a gift: the Shampoo, Conditioner and Night Shock and they are fantastic -- my hair felt super healthy and actually shines, which is rare for curly hair. I can't say much about the price range because it was a) a present and b) the price isn't listed on their website. Also, it's only available in Australia (I really should just move to Australia) so sorry rest of the world. It's definitely worth trying because I cant' say anything about the cost -- sorry.

My aunt went to South Africa and picked up some products for her children and 'lo and behold, it was a natural selection. I used the skin wipes and while I like them, they are very clearly designed for babies and they only have four products in their range. So I recommend this for all mothers out there, or at least in South Africa since it appears it only retails there. You can order online but since I have no use for it, I have no idea if they deliver internationally but you can contact them via email to find out. As for the pricing since I don't know much about the economics of South Africa, I'll just say it appears reasonably priced for Brits and Americans.

Sadly, only available in America but it really should be tried out.

Though not a 100% organic, the creator does her best to make sure the products are as chemical-free as possible. Like Kinky-Curl, the product range is concentrated, so you want get the variety of scents (but with this company it doesn't matter since the products they do have smell incredible) but you do get the amazing hair -- which is what the ultimate requirement is. I love the Hair Refresher that's been recently introduced. Another Must-Try.

Since I have been going organic, I've been doing my best to make as many of the things I use environmentally friendly as possibly -- including laundry and home care (much to the dismay of those around me) and sadly, the only thing I couldn't find that was organic disinfectant and dishwasher cleaners. And lo' and behold -- Bio-D. Another UK company, I am afraid but fantastic products -- they do their job as well as, if not better than, non-organic detergents and cleaners. Another must-buy in my opinion and the price range isn't too steep and you can buy it in bulk which is very useful Now I won't feel as responsible for the death of fish and wildlife.
