Estee Lauder Beautiful Glorious Gramophone

Estee Lauder Beautiful Glorious Gramophone

All the major fashion lines are coming out with solid perfumes -- L.A.M.B., Juicy and of course Estee Lauder. But what I love about this one is its case. It's an intricately detailed gramophone in a golden tone with sparkling crystals. It's definitely worth sitting atop your dresser in place of dusty perfume bottles.

I've rarely encountered anyone else wearing it - and I've worn it for 11 years because no one will let me stop. I run into old friends who say "It smells like Tia" when they see me as it's such a powerful signature scent. It's so warmly embraced, so unique... The late perfumer saw this scent as the essence of sensual awakening, the fragile yet complex balance between innocence and sophistication. Her selection of notes reflects this: A blend of freshly cut grass, musky rose, peach, and vanilla. She called it "the perfume you want to kiss."

From the black and white retro but slightly futuristic Diesel ads to the lace netting on the slightly flask-shaped bottle, I was definitely intrigued with the fragrance. It turns out it’s pretty and a little bit naughty, (which is exactly what their ads are trying to get across). I actually didn’t quite know what to expect before my first spritz, as I am usually not impressed by many mainstream fragrances. However, I was pleasantly surprised that this was a fruity oriental, with rich ambery woodsy notes of an oriental, and the sweet notes of honeyed jasmine, and fruitiness provided by raspberry, mandarin, and blackcurrant. I actually love black currant (jams, cookies and even liqueur), but not every company has been able to capture it properly. Diesel has done it very well however. All together Fuel for Life a pretty and feminine composition and the dry down is gingery and sweetly spicy from the patchouli and pink pepper. When it dries down it gets a little softer and a nice sweet soapy scent comes out. The floral notes are warm and very natural, like a garden in springtime. Fuel for Life is a warm, soft scent, a pleasant mixture of fruity and woody. The lasting power is also superb. This is a really pretty perfume. It's going to make a nice winter scent for me this year. It has also been a lovely going out/night fragrance. Fragrance Notes: Mandarin, Pink Pepper, Jasmine, Patchouli, Black Currant, Raspberry, Musk.
