I was six and we were down in Mexico and even as a six year old I thought it was the tackiest jewelry I'd ever seen. I've since learned that it was the design I didn't like, but the association of turquoise to tacky stayed far too long in my head. I'm really just warming back up to turquoise now, and turquoise jewelry just like this is the reason. It's light and spring-y. It's gold and it's in an appealing design for once.
