Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel for All Skin Types

Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel for All Skin Types

This is simply heaven in a tube! It’s unlike any other cleanser I've ever used. It’s a very unique concept – It started out on my face as a gel, and as I massaged it in, it turned into an oil. The oil felt soft and smelled amazing (a lovely orange/tangerine scent), and took off every last trace of my makeup. When I added water to rinse it off, it changed yet again into a cleansing milk and came off easily, with no oily residue. I was left with a very smooth, soft, clean face. I never used anything like it. It's very pleasing to the senses. It smelled great, felt nice and left my face clean and soft, and hydrated! My skin did not feel stripped or dry, just a clean, smooth canvas at the end of the cleansing process. This cleanser contains Marula Oil, which is a "dry" oil, almost instantly absorbed by the skin. It felt so good to massage it onto my face that I looked forward to my very pleasant evening experience every night. There were even some evenings when I was so tired that I decided to skip moisturizer, and found that I really could! This is worth every penny, as it is truly a luxurious and effective product. And even better, the three-phase process allows you to pack fewer skin care products if you are crunched for space!

Ah, sunscreen, so many choices…and so little time. For my face, I am very finicky about the texture, the smell, the staying power and also the convenience level of the packaging (must be travel/gym ready). This new Clarins sunscreen was a relief in a sea of sunscreen I have been testing for the last month or so. I love the little cylinder tube which is super portable. The formula itself is very lightweight and on the thin side, but so concentrated I didn’t need much to cover my face (so it is very long lasting). There is a light fragrance, which dissipated quickly. The lotion glided on my skin without a trace of stickiness, white cast, or oil. The finish was matte. I found that it was light enough to be layered over my favorite serum and under my liquid bronzer or tinted moisturizer that I tend to favor in the summer months. As a matter of fact, this is actually the perfect skin primer before makeup application. The lasting power was fantastic on days I was working, running around outside or actually sunning at the beach. I had no breakouts or irritation from the product and it didn’t run or melt on my skin. It also left my skin soft and moisturized without feeling oily, so on the weekends I would just wear this with a little mascara and lip color and I was good to go! This is a non-chemical sunscreen which many of you will also appreciate. It’s made from 100% minerals. Yes, this is another product that is indeed worth every penny and I will be stockpiling! Note: As an added bonus if you are like me and always around computer screens, Clarins has added protection against electromagnetic waves in this formula.

  • I really need to invest in one of these. Every time I see one online I think about buying one but I haven't yet. But they are quite important to every girls make up cycle.

I actually did not know that this was part of a new MAC collection (Future Earth Collection). True to its name, it is black, gooey and grainy upon opening the jar. But any unpleasant associations end there…. When I first started applying it I noted with a smile that it really did look like I was “rolling around in the dirt”. However, that temporary visual effect was worth the spectacular results I got. When I used the scrub for the first time I used it on dampened skin and immediately felt the difference – the texture of the scrub, which is a gel based-grain scrub, changed to a velvety smooth cream and exfoliated my skin gently but thoroughly. After rinsing it off my skin looked amazing and was smooth, super clean with no dryness. I also used it as a leave on mask for 10 minutes 2x week and it always left my skin supple. With regular use, my skin was glowing, my blackheads were gone and my skin tone also evened out. This is simply an outstanding scrub and I cannot live without this one!

It goes without saying that the design of this eye palette, like many of the YSL palettes, is exquisite, unique and truly beautiful. But it doesn’t just stop there -- the colors themselves are wonderful and perfect for summer. There are 4 colors in the palette which were inspired by various African terrains. There is a deep chocolate brown (with a touch of eggplant), a true orange (with a touch of rust), a medium creamy yellow shade and a beige shadow. The brown and orange colors are bold, but were buildable if I wanted a more dramatic look. None of the colors has shimmer, they were silky and easy to blend and were a pleasure to play with and combine. The lasting power of the shadows was also good. I didn’t think I would gravitate towards the orange shade as much as I did. The orange was very flattering and not shocking or over the top in any way. I loved combining the orange all over the lid in a light layer with the chocolate in the crease and as an eyeliner on its own or over my eyeliner pencil. I also liked using the yellow and beige for a softer look. These shades are varied enough with darks, brights and neutrals that it will work with all skin tones as well. There is a lot of shadow in the pan and each is very pigmented. This combined with the beautiful limited edition palette design makes it definitely worth the price.

Sunny Yellow is part of their Spring ‘08 Color Fizz line. In the compact (very sleek, modern and I loved the mirror inside) it appeared to be as sunny a yellow as the name would suggest. When I applied the color on my lid, I found it very pigmented, smooth and very blendable. It's a great true warm sunny yellow color that really brightened my whole face. On me it showed up as a true yellow on me, but with a touch on gold. I also found that it worked well layered with bronzes and pretty caramel shades to create a soft, pretty look. I was very impressed with the staying power of this shadow, which was amazing. This can be applied lighter for a day time look that is quite appropriate for a work setting or more intensely for a more dramatic look in the evening. I also found that this color looked best with a dark brown or brown eyeliner to soften the yellow effect a bit. This color will work best on warmer complexions and up to a Gabrielle Union shade.

The Cooling Eye Gel Illuminator is one of my favorite products from the LUCI collection. It’s a very light cream eye shadow that appears to be an opalescent pearl shade out of the tube, but as soon as it hit my skin it turned into the most beautiful combination or soft pink, peach and apricot, reflecting different colors wherever the light hit it. It was noticeable but definitely not too over the top or distracting. I loved the effect! I used it on my brow bone on top of my cheekbones and even experimented applying it on top of a neutral power shadow. It really brought out my features. It very creamy in consistency and does have a very brief, cooling effect which was pleasant. I also applied just a little with a small brush on the inner corners of my eyes to brighten my entire eye area (great after a late night!). Because this color reflects light off of the skin, this looks great on all skin tones as well! On some people they will see more pink, others more of a peach or even violet tone at times.

I think this may be one of the prettiest shades in the whole Fafi collection as a matter of fact. Hipness gave me a natural, coral/peachy-pink glow (no shimmer) on me. It's very pigmented, so all I needed was a light swipe of the blush (with my mac 129 brush) to give me a beautiful glow. This is truly a beautiful blush with a nice, silky texture, making it very blendable. Although it is listed as a frost, I didn’t see any shimmer on my skin (but it does appear there is a small amount in the pan). What I loved about this shade is that it really brightened up my face without calling attention to the fact that I was wearing blush. This will work best up to an Oprah shade. Since this is limited edition, you may want to double up on this one!
