Kind Fruit/Nut Bars

Kind Fruit/Nut Bars

I’ve tried just about every brand and these actually taste good and don’t have a bunch of yucky artificial ingredients.

  • No need to worry about leaking shampoo or FAA travel restrictions. Basin makes this fabulous, lathery shampoo bar that's as good for the environment (no packaging) as it is for your hair.

It appears they have 10 "kinds" of bars, but my store only has 2 or 3 (I don't know because I am only obsessed with the next recommendation!) Gluten-free, wheat-free, dairy-free and preservative-free ~ but the taste will knock your socks off! (A few bars are not dairy-free). The main reason it's part of my detox plan? No refined sugar! It's sweetened mainly with honey and contain only nuts, fruits and berries. *no, this isn't necessarily low in fat and calories, but it's a quality food, showing me that if we eat what we're meant to eat ~~ that provided by the earth, not a machine ~~ our bodies will reward us with good health.

I am gluten-allergic, and all Lara Bars are gluten free. The lemon bars are really awesome, but my favorites are the Ginger Snap and the Coconut. Lara Bars are not made with high fructose anything, and nothing you can't pronounce. The ingredients are things like dates, figs, coconut, cocoa, ginger, cherries, bananas -- you get the picture. They are all chewy, sweet and satisfying!

  • I grew up in the Bay Area. The best gift you could give anyone was a box of nuts and chews from See's candy. It's a Bay Area holiday tradition.

The consistancy is much like a chewy brownie with chunks of nuts. I'm concerned about carb counts and the mid-20's is good for me for a meal replacement, especially when the carbs are from nuts and fruits, not from processed sugars and corn syrup. Lemon Bar is my favorite flavor of LaraBar. It is very tart, but still sweet enough to be tasty.

Probar's are super-tasty, whole-food energy bars that pack a wallop. Larger than many energy bars, Probars are great meal substitutes when on enduro rides or half-way up a long multi-pitch route when you want those extra calories. Unlike many bars, ProBars actually taste like real food and are not highly processed. I like the Original Blend flavor the best which is loaded w/ anti-inflammatory nuts.
