Rather, in using the coarse fabric, Miuccia Prada evoked a primitive, Old World feel — an intentionally unpolished, all-natural counterpoint to our fast-paced, tech-obsessed culture. And why not? As spring arrives in fits and starts, and our wardrobes get the proverbial cleaning, it seems time to take it down a notch. Ms. Prada was not the only designer feeling that way.
