Maybe it was the power of simplicity, the power of a gentle but inspirational word, or maybe it was the masterful use of image making that made this poster as recognizable as the Che Guevara image which came before it, or maybe it was because the subject was of a leader that wasn't looking down on the people, anyway it was a poster that got my hart beating with the longing for positive change. Thank you Shepard Fairey for this.

There is no denying the lasting impact that the original Obey design by Shepard Fairey had on this campaign (and probably leaking out into the design world, in general). Conceding it a fantastic piece, it truly has nothing on this... Love it, but this poster makes Barack look several years older than he actually is. Still, I can't wait to have a president this young. I bet by the time the right is finished with him, he will look several years older.
