If going organic seems too intimidating, start with what is termed the "Dirty Dozen". The "Dozen" is the first twelve on EWG's list of fruits and vegetables with the highest pesticide load (peaches being #1). If shopping, AT LEAST, buy these organic. The last twelve are the "safest" (#45 being onions). It's a start, but it encourages awareness of what you are eating. Although, I look forward to shopping at the farmer's market every week (when it's in season). You are most likely buying organic there AND supporting local farmers. Your choices matter!
