Pet Tags
It's amazing how many of my friends won't go out and spend five bucks on a personalized pet ID tag. My dog has gotten out of the house twice in the past four years, and both times neighbors blocks and blocks away have caught her, read the phone number, and given me a call to come get her. It's entirely possible that I'm the world's worst dog owner, having let my dog run rampant through the neighborhood twice in four years, but whatever. Things happen. I once got lost at a mall because I wandered off; does that make my parents bad people? No. I just means I'm sneaky-good! Anyway, these tags are a lifesaver.

However, I do think having a lot of filtered water "on tap," as it were, for dogs is a great idea. This reservoir aerates your dog's water and only needs to be filled a few times a week (less if you get a larger reservoir, available at the same site).

I like giving Peaches rawhide bones because they last a while, are good for her teeth, and keep her from ever lingering too long when I leave a pair of shoes on the floor. Add in the flavor of bacon, and how can you go wrong?

I can't tell you how much I despise those extendable/retractable leashes that people love to use. The mechanism to lock the line breaks, the line itself breaks, and worst of all, if you aren't paying attention, your dog can get a... I can't tell you how much I despise those extendable/retractable leashes that people love to use. The mechanism to lock the line breaks, the line itself breaks, and worst of all, if you aren't paying attention, your dog can get a good 30-foot head of steam going before yanking your arm out of its socket. I prefer a short (4 foot) leather leash like the one pictured. They give you better control of your dog, and they last forever.
