Solo Piano - Gonzales

Solo Piano - Gonzales

A Canadian currently living in Paris, Gonzales (not his real name) is more well known for his electro style music and his MC'ing skills in European clubs. Listening to this album, you find it hard to believe it's the same guy. The songs are what they say they are - solo piano pieces. Each piece has a soft yet subtle touch and intricate, jazz like key shifts, as well as wonderful dissonance that sounds really good (hard for me to explain this). This man is truly an artist and an expert pianist. A plain piano album might turn some off, but the songs are normal length (about 2-3 minutes) and very relaxing; I've heard it called the chill-out album for people who hate chill-out albums. You can really play the whole album straight, but here are some of my favorites: Gogol Manifesto Overnight DOT Armellodie Carnivalse
