Beautiful AND it adds the joy of birds to your space. Here in Montana, we have sand hill cranes, and they make this loopy sound in the mornings and evenings. It's one sound that immediately brings a smile to my face!

Bound in white cloth, The Other Rooms in the words of the artist, “the life of a woman seeing through the eyes of her son.” On page after page, or room after room, Ono walks the reader through her unique expression of motherly utopian pedagogy, providing observations and instruction “pieces”. Other sequences simply describe imaginary rooms, and invite the reader to inhabit them, or suggest new approaches to tasks such as gardening, or to one’s hometown, all in the serenely open style for which Ono is so famed. The Other Rooms is joyfully interactive in this sense, finding ways “to open doors where there are no doors.”

All of my mosaic works have hundreds of smaller pieces, each individually, with painstaking detail, sculpted to combine, making a dramatic, original, one-of-a-kind work.

From the artist: Tree of Many Colors Squared recycled mixed media 48 x 48 x 3 inches This is part of a series of wonderfully colorful modern geometrics created entirely from recycled scraps of paper, books, magazines, junk-mail, reclaimed wood, and consumer packaging. Each of the many pieces is hand-cut by me, individually applied and layered on wood, and completed with multiple layers of incredibly rich high gloss lacquer. These works are extremely detailed and laborious ---but I love the energy and the boldness each present. This energy lures me to continue to cut tiny little scraps that represent pieces of life to me. It reminds me that life is indeed complex but also wonderfully colorful and vibrant.

When I see this piece, all I can think about are the geodes we find and crack open out here in Montana... the sleek, polished outside and the soft, almost fuzzy-to-the-touch inside. Gorgeous!

It's Moroccan-inspired and all mosaic-y. It's gotta be mine! From the artist: Moroccan inspired design created with stained glass, seed beads, gems and bits of mirror. The full length mirror is encrusted with reflective text... It's Moroccan-inspired and all mosaic-y. It's gotta be mine! From the artist: Moroccan inspired design created with stained glass, seed beads, gems and bits of mirror. The full length mirror is encrusted with reflective texture. The mirror shape was first created for the base of the mosaic then each piece of handcut glass and gem was adhered individually. This mosaic was not "grouted" but instead a black acrylic paint was used to fill the small joints between each piece of glass for a grouted effect. Paint was used in order to preserve the brilliance of the beads and other delicate materials used in the mosaic design. The octagon shape in the top center of the frame is a small bronze mirror with a layer of beads along the inside and outside boarder. The bottom edge of the frame has a small metal circle that was taken from a necklace. The metal circle has a floral design etched into it. The small red circles around the perimeter of the frame are clear glass gems adhered over decorative paper. The gold glass was hand made using gold metal leaf adhered to clear glass. Overtime the metal leaf takes on an aged patina effect. Millefiori, a special glass created in Italy was used on the inner part of the frame. This mirror is full of intricate detail and surprises.
