I used to have an owl collection in elementary school. They're a useful kind of zero-degree of design, where the slightest little tic reveals world a difference. This little guy has a gaze that's so sweet it's almost cloying. I think I'd prefer that to something more piercing. It's not like one is less anthropomorphized than the other.

I think hand crafted birdcages are great home accent pieces. Like this one. Displaying small plant and trinket arrangements in them is a nice touch.
