Amazon: The Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers - An Historical Compendium of Pitching, Pitchers, and Pitches by Bill James, Rob Neyer
I do not have a good enough eye to distinguish a slider from a knuckle ball. Maybe because I spend more time dazzled by the many quirks and routines of those who dominate the mound. This book should give me a leg up in better understanding what makes a really good pitcher and a devastating pitch. Although I will still be curious as to what rookie pitcher Nick Green's quirks are once he takes the mound for the Los Angeles Angels.
