Pottery Barn: Chelsea Torchiere
I wanted a torchiere style lamp, but most of them had metal shades. I love torchieres because I'm drawn to upward directional lighting. I originally found the Cortland series of lamps offered by Pottery Barn. However, by the time I went to purchase the pair I needed, the series was discontinued. Funny thing was, I found the Chelsea series, and I swear it is simply identical to the Cortland series. The room these lamps are in have a deep maroon walls with espresso velvet drapes. With that, we went with the antique bronze with the glass shade. These lamps use 150 watt bulbs, so by using 150 watt daylight CFL bulbs the lighting is simply remarkable. I will point out as well, these lamps offer a dimmer feature, so incandescent bulbs are needed for that.
