Etsy seller leibenaller cites Van Gogh's Starry Night as inspiration for this colorful tote bag. She explains the process she used to create it here: "I was first introduced to this style of quilting while studying fibers in college. The story goes that this method of layering fabric was the first generation of what we now call chenille, and I believe it. At a time when all woven materials were precious, even the smallest pieces were valued. Being too small or worn to stich together, they were layered and allowed to fray, giving the base fabric a thick, warm, luxurious texture. I am eager to discover where this technique will take me and hope you will enjoy the outcome of the journey with me."
