yogurt by you
Get Cultured Our Inventor, Bruce, took great inspiration from this piece in the New York Times. He realized quickly that he had been relying heavily on store bought, mass produced yogurt-- But, making yogurt at home was a simple and engaging process that could be completed in 5 easy steps. Heat milk to about 200 Degrees-- keep it there for about 10 minutes Cool the milk down to around 120 degrees Add Culture (either a tiny amount amount of yogurt, or cheap/easy culture packets) Let the milk/culture incubate overnight in a temperature controlled environment Filter the Whey, throw it in the fridge & enjoy. Bruce’s gorgeous Yogurt By You ignites this process with a non-electric yogurt cylinder designed specifically to help you through all the key steps of at-home yogurt making: insulating the culture, filtering the whey, and refrigerating the yogurt. Insulating Culture Yogurt By You’s double walled, insulated stainless steel cylinder will keep your milk & culture at the optimal temperature for the entire incubation period. The cylinder can make up to 1 quart of homemade yogurt (32oz, or 4 servings). Filtering Whey We’ve included a hard rubber colander which will allow you to easily filter the whey created during your Yogurt’s incubation period. The colander attaches to the both the top and the bottom of the cylinder. Curved feet extend down to provide a space where the whey can run out into a sink or large bowl. Refrigeration of the Yogurt Yogurt By You serves as the perfect solution for storing and refrigerating your home-made yogurt until you’re ready to serve. Added Perks Dual compartments make for easy cleaning and storage. Yogurt By You will ship with a variety of culture packets, as well as a book of over 50 yogurt recipes and a “How To Get Cultured” instruction manual. With the Yogurt By You kit, you’ll have everything you need to start making your own gourmet yogurt at home (except of course, you’ll need to buy the milk separately).
