The Ghost and the Darkness
Ok, this movie is based on a true story that is sooo weird I'm not sure what is truth and what is embellishment. However, I do know for a fact that the two lions that this movie is about are stuffed and on view at a museum somewhere in Chicago. Ok, so here it goes. Once upon a time when the African landscape was be ravaged by European industry (via the construction of a huge railroad system) two gay, mane-less lions went on a killing spree, killing a number of laborers working on the railway project. Anyway, everything about these lions was considered very odd. The fact that two male lions buddied up by themselves. The fact that they had no mane. And the fact that they were man-eaters. Anyway, these two were so extraordinary that when they were killed their stuffed carcasses ended up as attractions. Weeeeeeiiiiiirrrrddd. Oh, Michael Douglas is the hunter hired to kill them and Val Kilmer has a tan.
