I love raku pottery. Horse Hair raku is actually produced using horse hair in the firing process: "I made this vase on my potter's wheel and fired it in my raku kiln. When it was glowing hot, I pulled it from the kiln and drop... I love raku pottery. Horse Hair raku is actually produced using horse hair in the firing process: "I made this vase on my potter's wheel and fired it in my raku kiln. When it was glowing hot, I pulled it from the kiln and dropped horse hair on it. The horse hair squiggled and burned, leaving black carbon markings. I use recycled horse hair from cello and violin bows."

It was then dipped in porcelain slip while leatherhard. It was glazed with a clear crackle glaze and fired in the raku kiln. While the glaze was still molten hot, I pulled it from the kiln and sprayed it with my secret patina - creating a lush metallic amber color on portions of the pot. Then it was reduced in a can of shredded paper to fill the cracks with smokey carbon."
