Be right back. Second verse, same as the first... Look, I grew up with this book influencing my life on a daily basis. My mother was absolutely obsessed with it. She used it to decide which type of Cub Scouts ring I should get, silver or gold... she picked out my corduroy pants colors based on it... she even went so far as to choose the paint in my bedroom based on what looked best for my skin tone. Know what? I'm glad she did. Whenever I walk into Macy's looking for my Kenneth Cole/Perry Ellis/Geoffrey Beene fix, and I'm looking to match a great tie to a great shirt, I just know what to find. The women behind the counter often look at me and wonder how the hell I did all of that shopping without a woman present, and I think it's hilarious. But anyway. Anyone who wants to figure out which colors they should be wearing needs this book. It's a classic, and it'll never go out of style.

I once read a quote along the lines of "a good perfume does not announce itself, but rather waits to be discovered...." So true. In keeping with that, I like to design spaces with treasure hunts tucked over, under and inbetween... In keeping with that, I like to design spaces with treasure hunts tucked over, under and inbetween more traditional objects- allowing for the unexpected discovery of naughty amongst the nice. One way to accomplish that? Books. There are countless titles that are not just a peep show but rather stimulate you or your guests intellectually as well, thus promoting them from the shadows of your bedside table drawer to center stage on the coffee table. This is a great one for that.
