British Museum
The British Museum is making its collection available to the public through an extensive online database of scanned images. This is a great resource not only for academics but for those interested in design. Right now the resolution of many of these images is not good enough to print out poster size, but they promise to remedy that fault soon. To find interesting images, enter a search term and check the box marked "Images only" A quick search using the word 'snow' turned up a whole series of amazing woodblock prints from Japan, as well as a large number of images suitable for holiday cards.
