Guerlain Le 2 de Guerlain Mascara

Guerlain Le 2 de Guerlain Mascara

I am moderately obsessed with this mascara - and i have not even purchased it yet. Mascara is one product i cannot be without - i normally go through my days with just tinted moisturizer, bentint, and mascara. With two brushes, you can get every lash! Packaging is gorgeous too. I am tempted to get the purple shade.

I have always had high hopes that I would find a toner that would be worthy of the extra skin care step, but I have not always been impressed. However, after using this for toner for several weeks, I can say that this is a great product! It didn't irritate or dry out my sensitive/combination skin, or give me that tight feeling that some toners have. It also didn’t sting like some toners can. This toner has a transparent gel texture and removed flaky skin in one swipe with no irritation. One squirt on a pad was enough to swipe my face (or just t zone). I loved the fact that it’s non-scented and didn’t make me break out. In fact, my face started to look amazing after using this product. Putting this toner before my moisturizer greatly calmed those areas and my skin felt softer and looked healthier. Since my skin texture was better, my makeup application was more even and looked better. I loved that I didn't even have to use a moisturizer some days after using this. NARS skincare also happens to have some of the best looking packaging I've ever seen among skincare brands. It is also a huge bottle, so it is completely worth the price tag.

The packaging is beautiful, with a beautiful vintage velvet black vine with red buds design (creating a subtle “S” for Stila I suppose?) contrasted against a stark white background. One of the best features about the packaging is that the pans are removable (magnetic) and the palette can be reused. All four colors matched perfectly together. The two stars of the palette are the gold eye shadow (upper right hand corner) which is just gorgeous and it made my brown eyes "pop!" Is a beautifully rich gold that is warm, has depth and would look good on everyone. Each of the shadows is buttery smooth and is highly pigmented, making for easy application and long wear. The second standout is the blush. It is beautiful and gave me a natural flush. It is very pigmented though so it should be applied with a very fluffy brush and layered lightly. The blush has no shimmer, it's a matte finish. The other two eye shadows are neutral ones. The lightest shade I used as a very subtle highlight or as a wash. It gave me just a subtle shine. The other shadow is a pretty chocolate shimmer. With the exception of the lightest shade, everything else is super pigmented so use a light hand. Note: The packaging is beautiful, but if you keep this in your purse as opposed to home and it bangs around a lot those fine black threads creating the vine decoration on the cover will shed. If you're looking for a nice nude palette with a twist this is it! It became my go-to when I felt inspired to use neutral and unique bright colors together. And long after this palette's is finished I will be able to continue to enjoy the beauty of the packaging. It is a gift that keeps on giving. The palette as a whole will work best up to a Gabrielle Union complexion, but the eye shadows will work on all skin tones.

The Noire Palette is a lovely palette for a “cool face”, featuring periwinkle blue shadow, pearly pink lavender eye shadow and a cool pink blush. The palette itself has a lovely, unusual design of silver and white flowers and vines with a black background. The black felt on the white and silver is a nice touch The magnetized palette opens up to 3 eye shadows and one blush. No mirror included in the palette. The pans can be taken out and exchanged for the individual Stila eye shadow and blush pans. The top left eye shadow in the Noire Palette is a light pearly pink. I found this to be beautiful for highlighting. The top right eye shadow is a periwinkle blue, which I tended to blend with the bottom left eye shadow which is a sparkly black that was excellent for a smoky eye look. The blush in the bottom right spot is a bright pink. When I used the periwinkle I tended to layer this one more heavily as it is not as pigmented as the others. It read a little more blue/grey on my skin and was very pretty. I tended to use the glittery black quite a bit as both an eye shadow and it also made a nice, soft charcoal liner for a daytime appropriate but smoky look. The blush is actually the winner of the palette. It’s a bright but deep pink color. It looks a little bright in the pan but goes on really sheer, natural and flattering. It just looked like pretty flushed pink cheeks which really complimented my skin tone and not bright pink obvious blush. Because the blush is very pigmented I used it with a light hand. The cost is also a great deal as opposed to buying eye shadow and blush pans plus palette or compact costs. This palette will work best up to an Iman complexion.

I am one of these women who is not great at home maintenance for many beauty services (manicures and brow shaping are the two that I always need to go to a professional for!). When I saw how cute and compact this box was, I figured this could possibly improve the way I maintain my brows in between appointments. Well, I loved it! It was so easy to use, with small (about 2”in long), yet still effective tools and products that really made my brows look polished enough that several people commented on how great my brows looked --even when I was still a few days overdue for a shaping! The box contains a wax (in an innovative retractable mini shelf on the bottom of the box that opens with a soft touch of a finger), which helped hold my brows in place without looking greasy. On the top shelf the box contains 2 shades of powder, tweezers and a mini brush for the powder. Brown Sugar’s powders are a dark chocolate brown with a bit of red, and a lighter beige/taupe shade (which you can mix to create a lighter brown if needed). The brow powder is very pigmented, very fine, and applied smoothly. It disappeared right into my brows. Using the mini brush and powder, I filled in the ends of my brows, and which still looked very natural, yet glam. This really enhanced my overall look, especially on those mornings when I didn’t have a lot of time to apply much makeup. While it’s amazing to have such tiny tweezers included (and they did a nice job), some of you may prefer to use these just for traveling and continue with your normal-sized tweezer at home for increased control. This brow box is such a special little treat, but also an important part of my beauty arsenal now!
