They're sexy as hell. from the site: Jeep showed us the Gladiator concept truck at the Detroit Auto Show in 2005. If some form of this concept truck ever goes to production it should satisfy everyone who's been waiting for a new Jeep truck. The Gladiator concept truck has an open-air canvas roof, removable doors and a fold-down windshield, all features that allow its occupants to feel in touch with the outdoors. The Gladiator's expandable truck bed and extra storage compartments enhance its cargo carrying abilities. The Jeep truck is powered by a 2.8-liter, 4-cylinder common-rail turbo diesel engine that provides 163 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. The Gladiator has a 6-speed manual transmission and a part-time transfer case. The truck's front and rear suspension are multi-link designs, and coilover shocks are used at all four corners. The rear has dual, concentric springs and the vehicle has a 1,500-pound payload. The Gladiator's ground clearance is 13.7 inches, with a break-over angle of 23.2 degrees, an approach angle of 47.6 and departure angle of 38.0 degrees. Front and rear tires are 34 inches and are mounted on 18x8 inch wheels.

A turn radius of zero? Purrr..... Another thing to add to my Wish List. from the site: Jeep pulled out all of the stops when they designed this one of a kind concept vehicle known as the Hurricane. The twin powered (that's right - 2) 5.7-liter HEMI engines deliver a combined 670 hp and 740 lb-ft of torque. One engine resides in the front, the other in the rear. Can excess be managed responsibly? To test the theory, Jeep equipped both HEMI engines with a Multi-Displacement System (MDS). Depending on the driver’s needs, the Hurricane can be powered by 4-, 8-, 12- or 16-cylinders. What does that mean? Torque on demand! This Jeep can climb obstacles other 4x4 vehicles can’t even comprehend. In addition, it has the power and traction to move from 0-60 in less than five seconds. “Jeep Hurricane is simply the most maneuverable, most capable and most powerful 4x4 ever built,” said Trevor Creed, Senior Vice President – Chrysler Group Design. “It pays homage to the extreme enthusiasts’ Jeep vehicles in form and off-road capability, but is a unique interpretation of Jeep design. Simply stated, it is the extreme example for the Jeep brand.” The Hurricane features a turn radius of absolutely zero, thanks to skid steer capability and toe steer: the ability to turn both front and rear tires inward. In addition, the vehicle features two modes of automated four-wheel steering. The first is traditional with the rear tires turning in the opposite direction of the front to reduce the turning circle. The second mode is an innovation targeted to off-road drivers: the vehicle can turn all four wheels in the same direction for nimble crab steering. This allows the vehicle to move sideways without changing the direction the vehicle is pointing.

From Inventor's Spot: The Hypnos is best described as a sport based luxury SUV with an interior that will amaze almost anyone who sees it. The exterior has long flowing lines and a short roof line that give it a fairly aggressive look. The high wheel arches house a set of 22 inch polished wheels. Once inside the cabin, the rider is engulfed in a rainbow of colors and comforts that are rarely seen in the vehicle market. Polished aluminum provides contrast from the many different colors that twist from the front of the vehicle to the back to create the seats and center console. Each seat is comprised of prism shaped pockets that can be inflated and deflated, offering the driver and passengers a massage while you are driving down the road. Each seat also has its own independent controls for air conditioning and heat that are found in the blades of the center console. The gauge cluster is made up of instruments that are viewed through diamond shaped prisms that are surrounded in metal. A touch screen has also been fitted into the center to display vehicle information. A camera mounted on the roof will be able to record and read the facial expressions of the driver and change the lighting and fragrance emitted from the vents.
