This is such a great album. It just feel like summer to me. Great pop songs from a terrific singer/songwriter. "Penny on a Train Track" and "Don't Know Why" are my stand-out tracks.

There was so much hype around the release of Broken Bells that I was afraid the music wouldn't hold up to the expectations. But turns out that it's a solid alternative pop album. But turns out that it's a solid alternative pop album. There aren't any of the mega songs that come with big pop bands, instead just really listenable songs that feel easy on the ear.

It's the second of three albums from Brit-folk artists, Nick Drake. There's no argumnet to be had, it's one of the best albums of all time. Period. Buy it if you don't have it.

Rilo Kiley was one of my favorite bands. This was an excellent side project of Jenny Lewis... folksy with a bit of a southern twang, I particularly loved the cover of "handle with care" on this album.

Fiona Apple is crazy, but in the best way possible. "Fast As You Can" has to be one of my favorite songs to be crazy-insane to. Tidal was a great debut, but this album proves she's no one hit wonder.

That's my relationship to Scarlet's Walk. Written in the wake of September 11th, this album of strange characters and almost folk-tales always calms me. The songs are a mix of slow, simmering tunes, and upbeat swinging number. Great album that holds up well.
