Face Value Mirror (skull)
Is that an eagle landing on my scalp? Did that flock of seagulls release their bowels on my forehead? Why do I have antlers? These are all questions you may be asking yourself whilst standing in front of a mirror from The Design Can's SELF-PORTRAIT Mirror collection. Are they easy questions to answer? No. Such is life. The mirrors are laser cut, leaving funny-shaped holes in the 1/8" thick acrylic. Steven Tomlinson and Jeannie Choe both earned their BFAs in Industrial Design from the prestigious Pratt Institute in 2003. They soon founded The Design Can, a firm that celebrates a lighter, but just as beautiful, side of design. To read their story, just follow the link...

I want to pass down to my grandkids some silver that actually kicks ass! These awesome Silver Skull Spoons ($45 each) are made from vintage silver by Tom Sale, aka Pinky Diablo. They come in teaspoon or tablespoon size. "Of course, the numerous holes limit their utility as spoons". If the teeth were made a bit sharper they could double as tines. Yep. Imagine the 'spork' possibilities here.
