7 Whole Grain Kashi Puffs

Kashi Puffs are my mainstay breakfast. I have Kashi Puffs w/organic blueberries, dark amber maple syrup, and plain soymilk. Kashi Puffs have a light, nutty flavor, have a good crunch to them, and don't turn into a soggy mess in your cereal bowl. I eat kashi puffs as a snack sometimes too. They are light enough they don't make me feel like there is cememt mix in my stomach after I eat it. If you are going to go out for a long work-out or yoga session, a bowl of Kashi Puffs about 20-30 min beforehand can be a great way to get your energy up

It appears they have 10 "kinds" of bars, but my store only has 2 or 3 (I don't know because I am only obsessed with the next recommendation!) Gluten-free, wheat-free, dairy-free and preservative-free ~ but the taste will knock your socks off! (A few bars are not dairy-free). The main reason it's part of my detox plan? No refined sugar! It's sweetened mainly with honey and contain only nuts, fruits and berries. *no, this isn't necessarily low in fat and calories, but it's a quality food, showing me that if we eat what we're meant to eat ~~ that provided by the earth, not a machine ~~ our bodies will reward us with good health.

  • The perfect snack. My favorite is the Wasabi and Soy Sauce Flavor. Oh by the way, this is actually FILLING! One handful should do the trick.

I recently discovered Sahale Snacks and they are AWESOME! I love to eat healty food and Sahale's stuff are basically nuts and dried fruits w/a bit of spices added (they do add some corn syrup too which is a bummer but not much of it) Anyway, I am way into the pistachio Ksar snack: sweet and spicy. Also really digging the Sorocco macadamia and papaya snack. These snacks are like savory versions of Larabars (which I love but get tired of all sweet all the time) In any event, if you want something tasty and spicy and healthy, try these sahale snacks. They do have a lot of fat in them but I think that is good because it makes me feel full when I eat some of it and it is generally all good/healthy nut fat so your body digs it too

Peanut butter is a staple in my diet. As I've gotten older and more concerned about what is in my food, I abandoned the Jif and Skippy with it's added sugars and stabilizers and moved to natural peanut butter. Maranatha butter, out of Oregon, is the best I've tasted. Somehow they managed to make a spread that tastes like peanuts but has a sweet note. If the peanut butter is this good, their almond and cashew butters are probably worth a try too.

  • This stuff is pretty addicting. And unlike some vegan cheeses, this is not made from nuts.
