Yes, honey is allowed, but no refined sugars. And look, for those of you scared to allow this sugar... I lost a deal of weight using honey every single day! It appears they have 10 "kinds" of bars, but my store only has 2 or 3 (I don't know because I am only obsessed with the next recommendation!) Gluten-free, wheat-free, dairy-free and preservative-free ~ but the taste will knock your socks off! (A few bars are not dairy-free). The main reason it's part of my detox plan? No refined sugar! It's sweetened mainly with honey and contain only nuts, fruits and berries. *no, this isn't necessarily low in fat and calories, but it's a quality food, showing me that if we eat what we're meant to eat ~~ that provided by the earth, not a machine ~~ our bodies will reward us with good health.

I loved these as a kid (and am probably gonna buy some more now!) Stretch Island has been making their 'Fruit Leathers' for years - simple, flat fruit bars made out of, well, fruit. Smooshed fruit. Sure, they throw in some concent... I loved these as a kid (and am probably gonna buy some more now!) Stretch Island has been making their 'Fruit Leathers' for years - simple, flat fruit bars made out of, well, fruit. Smooshed fruit. Sure, they throw in some concentrate of various fruits to keep it together (so it's not 100% raspberry, for example), but they're always tasty, cheap, around 45 calories per serving and count as 1/2 dose of your daily fruit needs as well. Perfect for the lunchbox or afternoon snack. You can buy packs of 30 directly on their site or use their store locater. I like raspberry, strawberry and apricot, but they have some neat blends as well.

Lara Bars are not made with high fructose anything, and nothing you can't pronounce. The ingredients are things like dates, figs, coconut, cocoa, ginger, cherries, bananas -- you get the picture. They are all chewy, sweet and satisfying!

I bought her "All-Natural Dog Treats" for my dogs, Layla and Nigel. Of course, they loved, loved, loved them. These treats are made from scratch (no pun intended)...no preservatives, additives or extra sugar...flavors include carrot, peanut and low-fat apple cinnamon.

Lemon Bar is my favorite flavor of LaraBar. It is very tart, but still sweet enough to be tasty.

As I've gotten older and more concerned about what is in my food, I abandoned the Jif and Skippy with it's added sugars and stabilizers and moved to natural peanut butter. Maranatha butter, out of Oregon, is the best I've tasted. Somehow they managed to make a spread that tastes like peanuts but has a sweet note. If the peanut butter is this good, their almond and cashew butters are probably worth a try too.

The best bars I have had in a very long time. I often pack them in my suitcase when I travel. They are about 140 calories, made with whole soy and dried fruit. OUTSTANDING!
