So I did the taste test to see if I could tell which sample was the Pikes Place brew and which was the Via Ready Brew. Now, my incredibly sensitive palate could sense a very tiny difference in the two... the Via Ready Brew was slightly less potent at the beginning but had the same overall punch as the Pikes Place brew at the end. Overall, it's definitely the best instant coffee I've ever tasted (and, being a college kid, I've tasted a LOT). The best part is that it makes cooking (most likely baking) with coffee even better! I'm definitely sold on this product.

As the name implies, it's made from soft touch (grippy yet silky, BPA-free) plastic, which is a joy to hold. It holds 16 oz - perfect for a large cup of joe or a nice hot latte (I even use mine to make iced teas and coffees). It's got a smooth, undulating shape that's easy to hold and a pleasure to look at. The red color is perfectly situated between shout-out and discrete. The lid has a flip up top which exposes a drinking slot, which is easy to sip from , and is also sized with the just the right amount of room for a straw, if you'd like to use one. Best of all, due to a simple rubber gasket in the lid, it's essentially leak proof! Flip it, throw it in your bag - no leaks! For every one sold, Starbucks donates $1 to the (RED) program to help save lives in Africa.

Appropriately they go there with a bang. Packaged in a cool looking box with starbucks cup markings, VIA comes in convenient single server packets - just tear, pour and add water. I've tried both flavors (Columbian and Italian) and like them both. Colombian is a little more rounded and mellow, while Italian has a little more kick to it. They definitely taste better than any other instant coffee I've tried, with more body and edges. It's the best instant coffee available. But it's NOT a freshly ground and brewed cup. However, they're perfect when on the run, traveling or to make a quick iced coffee - just use 2 packets and ice cubes. Only con is the price - $9.95 for 12 packets, which is pretty high for instant. Not to mention they are only avaialble at the Starbucks online store, so you have to add in shipping.

  • Who doesn't want a cool coffee maker/espresso machine? This one is really cool. Buy it... make it...enjoy it.

  • I love the taste of pressed coffee. And at 32 oz capacity, it can make several cups while keeping the coffee hot. Perfect for home or the office.

Who among us doesn't enjoy a yummy latte or mocha? The trip to Starbucks is always fun but sometimes we want to sit at home, maybe entertain some company and serve up something warm and delicious! I love knowing that if I want a latte at 3 in the morning, as long as I can find my way to the kitchen I'm set. I love this machine and anyone who is serious about enjoying their coffee should consider one. You dont have to stop going to Starbucks - its just one more way to bring great tasting coffee drinks into your life. Starbucks just brought this model out - its probably identical to the original Starbucks Barista machine, only it carries the Saeco name. This is not a toy! Its a serious piece of equipment that will definitely impress your guests and make a great shiny additon to your kitchen! Read the reviews, this is probably one of the best starter machines on the market! I know! All metal. 2 shots at once. Made in Italy.

Every once in a while Starbucks releases limited availability coffees called Black Apron Exclusives. These are unique and very special beans that probably could never sustain mass production Starbucks' other coffees can handle. The Ethiopia Gemadro Estate is really an exquisite coffee. It is a deep, complex and full-bodied experience. Despite being far from dainty, it is smooth and graceful. Cocoa power, light spice and herbs make up the essence of this coffee. Try it with desserts or dishes accented with citrus or herbs. Starbucks is hardly known for inexpensive coffee and their Black Apron Exclusives live up to that reputation. Each beautifully packaged half pound box will cost you $12 but its oh so worth it! If you take the plunge, make sure you treat this special coffee with respect and brew it in a French Press.
