Lundberg Organic Brown Rice Syrup

Lundberg Organic Brown Rice Syrup

Since my roommate is allergic to corn syrup I used this in place of it in my fleur de sel caramels and it still came out great. Still tasted good and is a healthful alternative for those watching their sugar intake.

Truvía (I think the accent symbol is just for looks) is a newly approved artificial sweetener with a more natural background. Unlike Splenda's kinda misleading "made from sugar" claim, Truvia is actually a sweetener that's been available for years in the form of the Stevia plant. Truvia is an extract of the plant that is sweeter than sugar yet calorie free. I've tried Truvia and think it tastes great, just like sugar. Some people complain of a slight licorice aftertaste but I haven't experienced that. It's now available online and should be in groceries around the country soon. While I try to use artificial sweeteners sparingly, when I do, Truvia will be my choice. UPDATE: Now available in Stop & Shop's.
