Well it's about time somebody seriously and critically addressed the issues about hair in the Black community. And suprisingly enough, it was Chris Rock who did it. The documentary film was inspired by a question Rock's young daughter asked him: “Daddy, how come I don’t have good hair?” Unsure about how to answer her question, Rock decided to explore historical and contemporary sources to shed light on "the way black hairstyles impact the activities, pocketbooks, sexual relationships, and self-esteem of black people". Featuring interviews with Ice T, Maya Angelo, Kerry Washington, Al Sharpton and Nia Long to name a few. I can't wait to see how he tackles this subject.
