It's purified tap water, and there's nothing wrong with that. Dasani uses 'reverse osmosis' to remove pretty much everything from their tap water supply. They then add Magnesium, Potassium and Chloride to give it some taste. I find Dasani...ok. It tastes fresh (due to the chlorine and such) but is a teeny bit metallic (magnesium). They tried to make it taste crisp but I don't feel that. Bottom line: Clean, fresh water. A little metallic. Better than some taps, but If you have a choice, try Aquafina.

Finally, a drinking water bottle that makes sense on multiple levels. There are numerous environmental concerns that this bottle addresses: 1. Made from corn resin (also known as polylactic acid or PLA), unlike regular PET plastic, which is made from petroleum, this new plastic helps reduce our dependency on oil, and also helps reduce pollution produced during manufacture. 2. This bottle comes with its own carbon-based filter, unlike SIGG bottles or the like, and so it can be filled with regular tap water and you get to drink FILTERED water. Cool! 3. It can be reused up to 90 times, reducing waste, and then can be tossed guilt-free, or even recycled through special PLA recycling programs. Replacing it every so often helps eliminate the possibility of bacteria build-up in your bottle. I just love this bottle!! Check it out!!
